02:21 — In fact, Microsoft has stated its support for model choice and flexibility for years now – as just one indicator, its Microsoft Foundry catalog lists more than 11,000 AI models. The Cowork news, following the recent SharePoint AI enhancements that similarly include Claude technology – reflects the expanding alliance between the two companies.
03:02 — Based on Anthropic’s technology strengths, this expanding partnership is good for customers, and good for Anthropic as it powers these high-profile Microsoft products. These developments also play out shortly after Microsoft disclosed plans to ramp up internal model development, but comments from this week indicate it’s not exactly downplaying its use of – or support for – OpenAI models amid these ties with Anthropic.
