Welcome to this Cloud Wars Agent and Copilot Update. In these discussions, I’ll be analyzing opportunities, impact, and outcomes possible with AI.
Highlights
0:13 — My customer research in the earliest part of 2026 reveals a “gray zone” where companies are neither fully embracing AI nor sticking to traditional methods. According to recent research, nearly 60% of workers believe AI will significantly change their jobs in the next five years.
2:11 — Most companies are offering only surface-level reskilling, with few providing a long-term vision for human roles in AI-driven businesses. Employees are adapting quietly, trying to comply and survive, rather than embracing the transformative potential of AI to chart a new path forward; many companies are not telling a compelling story about their AI adoption strategies. I think the next 12 months will bring more job insecurity, fewer traditional career ladders, and a growing premium on human qualities like trust and judgment.
3:30 — I expect there will be more people employed in security roles, as people feel replaceable and struggle to find their place. I anticipate fewer traditional career ladders, with more solo operators and hybrid livelihoods becoming common. There will be a growing premium on trust, judgment, and human presence, as well as rising anxiety, before clarity emerges.
4:51 — The real risk isn’t the machines becoming more capable but staying silent in the gray zone and forgetting that we have choices. In upcoming episodes, I aim to provide insights that help businesses chart a new course.
