Welcome to this Cloud Wars Agent and Copilot Update. In these discussions, I’ll be analyzing opportunities, impact, and outcomes possible with AI. In today’s episode, I analyze AI transformation and how business leaders need to adapt their organizations and people to this fast-moving technology.

Highlights

0:42 — There’s a need for a fundamental shift in thinking, emphasizing the importance of AI in enhancing efficiency and intelligence. There’s also a risk of “AI brain fry” — a feeling of being overwhelmed by the rapid influx of information and the brain’s inability to keep up with AI’s pace.

1:49 — Focusing on the human side of AI, there’s a need for judgment, discernment, and clear thinking in an AI-driven world. I have concerns about organizations treating AI as a departmental tool rather than integrating it into the human brain and organizational interactions. I know from personal experience that AI can be overwhelming — it creates a different kind of burnout related to the prefrontal cortex’s inability to scale as fast as AI.

3:25 — Business leaders need to redesign work, not just focus on tools. This includes embedding AI into daily work processes. AI needs to be a team sport; I recently learned of an example where a business process document was reviewed by the entire team before AI was used to build the code. This collaborative approach can significantly reduce the time required for project completion, from months to a few days.

4:35 — We need to be openly discussing and acknowledging the impact of AI on productivity and workload. While AI may make work faster, it also increases the workload and the need to reevaluate workflows and expectations.
