Welcome to this Cloud Wars Agent and Copilot Update. In these discussions, I’ll be analyzing opportunities, impact, and outcomes possible with AI. In today’s episode, I analyze AI and its impact on business consulting.
Highlights
0:32 — I’ve previously discussed the “gray zone” of AI, which is the space between what AI can do and what humans still need to do. Many people in the Microsoft channel are stuck in this gray zone, unsure of whether to move forward or backward. The role of business consultants has evolved significantly due to AI, and they are now more important than ever in guiding organizations through the gray zone.
2:01 — Despite its capabilities in generating options and strategies, AI cannot turn judgment into context. It lacks the ability to understand a company’s political landscape or produce insights that matter to leadership. Business consultants are essential in translating AI data into practical business applications, defining the practical aspects of AI’s strategic options.
3:47 — There’s a misconception that AI can replace the need for business consultants. Consultants have always been valued for their deep understanding of products, markets, and the ability to deliver actionable recommendations. AI may produce some answers faster than humans, but it cannot replace the human touch in translating data into practical business solutions. The best business consultants will thrive by making sense of complex information and building trust with clients.
5:11 — The future of business consulting lies in the ability to make sense of AI data and translate it into practical business strategies. Trust is crucial for consultants to add value and build long-term relationships with clients.
