Microsoft Scout Is the New ‘Front Door’ While WorkIQ Makes Every AI Agent Smarter

Highlights

00:32 — Unlike traditional AI tools that require user prompts, Scout proactively moves work forward without waiting for user input. Scout is categorized as a new type of agent called “autopilots,” which are always on and under user control. Each Scout agent runs under its own enterprise identity, ensuring audibility and governance, with credentials scoped to specific tasks and redacted from logs, adhering to Microsoft’s privacy policies and compliance requirements.

01:54 — Work IQ, the strategy underpinning the Scout product, builds context over time based on user behavior and priorities. Work IQ currently powers scheduling, calendar blocking, and risk flagging but is also available as an API. This API allows every agent in the Microsoft 365 environment to draw from the same operational intelligence. Microsoft is not just launching a personal agent but building a shared memory layer for the entire agent technology. Scout serves as the front door, while Work IQ makes every agent behind it smarter over time.
