Welcome to this Cloud Wars Agent and Copilot Update. In these discussions, I’ll be analyzing opportunities, impact, and outcomes possible with AI. The World Cup frenzy serves as a good opportunity to identify “red flags” — red cards in soccer parlance — that can trip up your business when they occur within sales and marketing.

Highlights

0:32 — AI has been widely adopted in marketing, leading to significant time and cost savings, but also to numerous errors. A big red flag can go up from false claims, where AI-generated content can be misleading or inaccurate, damaging credibility and trust. When it comes to the issue of AI hallucination, AI creates content without verifying its accuracy, which can be particularly problematic in marketing materials. AI should not be relied upon as the final authority

3:18 — Another gotcha: generic personalization, where AI-generated emails appear personalized but lack genuine research and content. Buyers are savvy and can easily spot generic, AI-generated content, which undermines the effectiveness of marketing efforts.

4:03 —The third red flag is the automation of relationships, where AI is used to handle communication and build relationships. People buy from people, and relationships are built through empathy, curiosity, and understanding, not through automated processes. Don’t rely solely on AI to handle relationships, as genuine human interaction is essential for building trust and loyalty. I’m hoping your team — soccer or business — wins!
