Welcome to the AI Copilot Podcast, analyzing the latest AI Copilot and agent developments from Microsoft and its partners, delving into customer use cases, and exploring how AI plus the Cloud helps customers reimagine their business. In this episode, Prashant Bhoyar, Microsoft MVP and GenAI architect who works for AIS, discusses the upcoming AI Copilot Summit with Tom Smith. Bhoyar is on the event programming committee.

Highlights

Role in AI and the Microsoft Business Apps Community (01:15)

Bhoyar began his AI journey in 2017 with Microsoft’s cognitive services. He has been working with Power Virtual Agents since 2019 and has been recognized with the Microsoft MVP award since 2017. Prashant has been involved in AI, copilots, and business applications.

Most Compelling AI Projects (02:45)

Bhoyar discusses a recent application that uses the latest Azure AI technologies for data extraction: AI Document Intelligence Extraction Service for OCR and GPT-4 from OpenAI via Azure OpenAI Service. The custom agent has reduced the time required for data extraction from 10 hours to 15 minutes. Another project involves automation for managing invoices using the Document Intelligence Service. The project combined low-code (Power Automate) and pro-code (Power Apps) approaches.

Excitement Around AI Copilot Summit (06:15)

Bhoyar expresses interest in focusing on building copilots (see Bhoyar’s demo) and data readiness at the AI Copilot Summit. He emphasizes the importance of data readiness for effective AI services and the need for organizations to ensure their data is high quality. He’s also interested in learning about copilots in various business applications, including Dynamics 365, BC, and NAV.

Advice to Attendees (08:36)

Bhoyar advises attendees to identify their roles and interests to choose the appropriate tracks at the summit. He suggests that makers should focus on building agents and copilots, while architects should focus on data readiness and access governance.

2025 Copilot/Agent Outlook and Predictions (10:36)

Bhoyar predicts that multi-modal applications — combining images, text, and videos — will gain popularity. He also anticipates a growing interest in voice-based copilots and agents, allowing users to interact using voice rather than keyboard and mouse.

AI Agent & Copilot Summit is an AI-first event to define opportunities, impact, and outcomes with Microsoft Copilot and agents. Building on its 2025 success, the 2026 event takes place March 17-19 in San Diego. Get more details.
