Welcome to this Cloud Wars Agent and Copilot Minute. In these discussions, I’ll be analyzing opportunities, impact, and outcomes possible with AI; today I’m analyzing AI agents in context of transparency, security, and traceability.
Highlights
00:19 — AI agents maintain full visibility into every prompt and file interaction, contrary to the common belief that actions disappear into a black box. Each AI agent has a unique identity through Microsoft Entra Agent ID — similar to a person’s login with scoped, least-privilege permissions. Every action taken by an AI agent can be traced back to the entity that triggered it, ensuring accountability.
00:56 — Microsoft’s Purview Data Loss Prevention now extends to agent prompts and responses before sensitive data is pulled in. The system scans for policy violations and blocks data if it should not leave, preventing issues from arising. Admins do not need to actively search for this information; Purview’s audit and activity explorer capture every interaction in real-time.
01:44 — The addition of data security posture management for AI gives security teams a real-time view of sensitive information flow. This proactive approach helps in identifying and addressing potential issues before they become problems.
